Your Asthma Can Be Controlled!

Asthma is a chronic lung disorder, which means it does not go away and there is no cure.  More than 22 million people have been diagnosed, and millions more remain undiagnosed.  Asthma can be mild, or it may be so severe that it results in death. Symptoms include episodes of coughing (particularly at night or early in the morning), wheezing, breathlessness, and chest tightness.

Asthma-girl-with-sign-150x150You do not have to have all of these symptoms to be diagnosed with asthma.  It can be caused by many different things, but regardless of the cause, asthma is controllable.

Given the proper knowledge and tools, asthmatics can live normal, active lives and sleep well at night.  At Select Respiratory Services, our Certified Asthma Educators perform thorough breathing assessments and help you develop an Action Plan that’s right for you.

We offer you a unique way to get help with your asthma.  A Respiratory Therapist can work with you in the privacy of your home, school, or office.  You can arrange to meet with your asthma educator at the day and time that are right for you.  Your training can be arranged at your own pace.  Your doctor will prescribe the training you need and will oversee your progress.

Our Asthma Education Program was developed according to the guidelines of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  This ensures that you will receive all the information and training you need to help you confidently keep your asthma under control.  Both adults and children can benefit from our program.

Please contact us  or call 916.805.5119 for more information about our home-based Asthma Education Program.
