Meet Victoria Florentine

Helping the sick was a natural choice for Victoria Florentine, whose father became ill with heart and lung disease when he was thirty-five years old.  From age ten, Victoria called for the ambulance, kept her mother and the other four children calm and quiet, and held her father’s hand until help arrived.  Although her father did not live long enough to see it, Victoria dedicated her life to guiding those with breathing disorders toward JCP Head shot white background small for Webbetter health.

Victoria began her healthcare career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), drove an ambulance for ten years, and served on the Board of Directors for the largest volunteer ambulance squad in the United States.  She then became a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and spent the first few years working in the intensive care units of a large Florida hospital.  Victoria went on to open pulmonary rehabilitation programs, manage respiratory therapists for rehab and homecare companies, run health education departments for insurance companies, co-own a geriatric rehabilitation clinic, and teach respiratory therapy to college students.

Victoria has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and holds certifications as an Asthma Educator (AE-C), Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT), American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Trainer, and American Lung Association Smoking Cessation Counselor.  She specializes in patient advocacy, pulmonary rehabilitation, sleep disorders, and asthma education.  She has appeared on radio and television, written books and articles, and spoken to professionals and laypeople about the prevention and treatment of lung disorders.

With a focus on prevention, Victoria strongly believes in being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to one’s health.  She is an outspoken advocate for those with chronic diseases and their families.  Her goal is to empower her patients with the knowledge and tools they need to enjoy the highest quality of life and keep their diseases under control.
